Hilda is an Attorney at Law since 1989 and Certified Mediator from the Chambre d’arbitrage et de mediation de Paris. She reckons a wide experience in litigation, mainly in family disputes, adoption cases, land and property disputes, insurance claim, commercial disputes, arbitration and judicial review cases. She is well versed in both civil law and criminal procedures.  Her long-standing experience in drafting contracts and legal documents is well recognised in the profession.  She has also been successful in domestic arbitration cases in Mauritius.  Likewise, her work as counsellor to the National Children’s Council and various Women organisations locally did not go unnoticed.

Her legal advice extends to Church Organisations, mainly the Anglican Church of Mauritius. For the past 11 years she has acted as Chancellor of the Anglican Church for the Indian Ocean Province regrouping Mauritius, Madagascar and Seychelles, under the leadership of Archbishop Ian Ernest.   The new Archbishop re-appointed her for another mandate this year.

She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb) UK. Her continuous training in the arbitration field led her successful award in Construction Adjudication and urged her active participation in the 1st conference on Investment Law organised by the CIArb Mauritian Branch.
