Aged 51, Cader is a practising solicitor or attorney-at-law (‘avoué’ in French) in the Mauritian bar since 1991. He is a registered member of the Law Society of Mauritius, the regulatory body for solicitors in Mauritius.
Cader is a Civil Law Attorney & Insolvency Lawyer before the Supreme Court of Mauritius. As in Mauritius counsel have to be briefed by attorney in criminal appeals to the Supreme Court of Mauritius, he forays a dozen times a year into the field of criminal law. Cader was a member of the Industrial Relations Commission (IRC), a statutory body (now abolished). The IRC was a conciliation and mediation body for the resolution of trade disputes referred to it voluntarily by the parties or compulsorily referred by the minister of Labour and Industrial relations. As a member of IRC, Cader participated in the partial or total determination of industrial disputes.
